Available information

We ensure that all relevant information about our processes and decisions is easily accessible to those affected and to the public. We publish approximately 20% of all tribunal decisions on Lovdata. On our website, you will find guidelines and guides for case processing, as well as useful information about case procedures, types of cases, children's participation, and frequently asked questions for those appearing before the tribunal.

Regular reporting

We regularly report on our activities and results, including the publication of annual reports and other relevant documents that provide insight into our work and priorities. We also publish statistics for research projects, analyses, and the media. We collaborate with the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir) to publish statistics related to coercive decisions under the Child Welfare Act.

Open day at the tribunals

In January 2025, we held an Open Day at all tribunals across the country. To increase transparency around our important societal mission, we invited local politicians, local media, municipal child welfare services, experts, and specialists to join us. We opened the doors to our premises, which are normally closed to the public and the press due to confidentiality. We aim to provide insight into our case processing and the issues the tribunal addresses. We showed films about our case processing methods, give tours of our premises, and feature presentations from Marit Skivenes, the Stine Sofie Foundation, and the Ombudsman for Children.

Our company core values

Trust is essential for creating good processes and legitimate decisions. We achieve this through open dialogue and transparent communication, both internally within the tribunal and externally with those we serve. Trust gives our processes and decisions legitimacy and soundness.
Openness means being transparent and accessible in areas where we can be, such as our processes and the way we work. We believe in addressing difficult issues and topics internally without fear of consequences. This prevents unwanted incidents and the concealment of critical issues. Openness is closely linked to trust, as it creates a transparent and understandable process for all involved parties.
Respect involves showing courtesy and empathy for all actors and parties in a case. We recognize differences and diversity, and show care and acceptance for others' work. Respect also means loyalty to decisions and tasks, which strengthens cooperation and understanding among all involved.
